Friends of Worth
Events

In any school year, Friends of Worth lays on over 20 different social events at House level, which have included activities such as a dog walk around the Worth Estate, a talent evening, a quiz, curry night and many more besides. In addition to the House events, Friends of Worth organise whole school events, such as the annual Christmas Market, a cheese and wine 'Call My Bluff' evening and a biannual summer ball or family fun day.

Friends of Worth Walk

Saturday 23rd March, 2019

10am meet in the Whitehead Room

Following on from the Friends of Worth walk on 1st March, on Saturday 23rd March we are organising a similar walk in Worth grounds for local refugee families, through Refugees Welcome Crawley. This is a great opportunity for the families who do not generally have transport to have a social get together and a fun walk.

We are planning to meet at 10am for coffee and pastries in the Whitehead room and then head off for a 1/1½ hour’s ramble through the woods and fields of the Worth estate. We will then return for a light lunch at about 12pm. All parents are warmly invited to join the Friends of Worth and refugee families for the morning. If you are able to come please email us at fow@worth.org.uk by Thursday 21st March to confirm your attendance.

Sale of Second Hand Uniform

Friday 29 March, 2019

11am to 12pm in the Barlow Room

Why spend more? Second hand uniform will be on sale on Friday 29 March and again in the Summer Term (date to be confirmed). Please be aware that the donated 'old design' sports kit now may not sell as it becomes obsolete at the end of Summer Term 2019. As a result all 'old design' kit will not be accepted after the Summer Term sale and any that remains unsold after this will be given to the Irundu school in Uganda when there is next a visit or to a charity in the UK. In the meantime, there are plenty of useful items to choose from for those pupils doing their Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

Farwell and Chapman Charity Curry and Quiz Night

Thursday 2nd May, 2019

6.30pm in the Whitehead Room

You are very welcome to enter as a family or even join up with other day boy families to enter as a team. This event is a real highlight in the House social calendar and is always well attended, so please reply early to guarantee a table. The event will be held in the Whitehead Room starting at 6.30pm and the ticket includes a full quiz with prizes and a delicious curry. The cost is £10 per adult or £15 per couple and pupils go free. All profits will be divided between the Chapman and Farwell House charities so please show your support for what promises to be a really fun evening. Email fow@worth.org.uk to book a place.
