Passion Play

Worth Abbey & Worth School grounds
Easter Saturday saw the culmination of months of hard work for all those involved in the Worth Abbey Parish's production of the Worth Passion.
Monks, parishioners and former students of Worth School all helped in the creation and performance of the play, directed by Alice Kennedy. Various outdoor locations around the Abbey and School campus made fitting backdrops for scenes from the Passion of Jesus from his trial to his death.
Ms Kennedy said, "The play has developed organically and is designed specially for the site. From the High Priest's court outside the Abbey Church to Pilate's judgement in the school's quadrangle, the play brings to life the Gospel story, drawing cast and audience into a shared experience of the Roman occupation at the time of Christ."
The cast was more than 50 strong and the weather remained kind, alllowing an audience of around 750 to witness the moving production.
