Conference: Make My Word Your Home...an introduction to lectio divina
16-19 July 2009
The Lay Community of St Benedict
The ancient practice of slow and prayerful reading of the Bible is currently experiencing a resurgence of interest. This conference is an introduction to the practice known as lectio divina by some of its most acclaimed practitioners including Fr Michael Casey from Australia, a Cistercian monk and the author of Sacred Reading.
Residents will be accommodated at Worth in en suite bedrooms. We are delighted to welcome day visitors on Saturday 18 July, who can participate from 10.00 am till 4.00 pm.
The conference is organised by the Lay Community of St Benedict, a community of people who live out the insights of the Rule in many different contexts around the world. The Community’s core activity consists of regular gatherings, praying with Scripture and sharing hospitality. More information is available at www.laybenedictines.org
