Medical Facilities

The Medical Department was completely refurbished to a very high standard in 2002. It is located centrally and provides 10 beds, two of which are in single rooms. Each room has a hand-basin, computer port, television and video recorder.

Within the medical centre, there is a small kitchen for preparing snacks, but those admitted to the medical centre have the option of choosing meals from the menu in the refectory.

A qualified nurse stays on duty 24 hours per day. She holds surgeries three times a day for routine treatment and is always available in case of accidents or illness. Parents or guardians and housemasters are informed immediately of any accidents, or if their son has been admitted to the Medical Department for the night.

The School Medical Officer, who is the Senior Partner of a local practice, visits three mornings per week. There is access to the practice or to an 'out of hours' service at all times.
