Scholarships and Awards

Academic Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded annually, varying in value up to 40% of the annual fees.

  • At age 11+:  Awards are available to candidates demonstrating academic excellence in the entrance tests held at the school in January each year.  Year 7 entrance tests for September 2008 entry will be held on Saturday 12 January 2008 and will be in English, Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning.   On the basis of these tests and a positive report from their current school, some boys will be invited back on Wednesday 16 January for scholarship interviews.  Parents will receive the results of the scholarship interviews by the end of January at the latest.  The closing date for applications is 4 January 2008.

  • At age 13+:  Awards are available to candidates demonstrating academic excellence in the Common Scholarship examinations in the Summer Term. The closing date for applications for 2008 entry is 1 April 2008.  Click here for the application form.

  • At age 16+:  A number of scholarships are available each year to candidates of outstanding academic ability entering the Sixth Form at Worth. The closing date for those wishing to apply for a scholarship for entry to Worth in September 2008 is Monday 12 November 2007. The examinations and interviews will be held on Friday 23 November 2007. Click here for the application form.    

Music Scholarships

  • At age 11+:  A number of awards for choral and / or instrumental excellence are available to outstanding candidates. The music scholarship auditions and interviews for 2008 entry will be held on the 16 January 2008 and the closing date for applications is 14 December 2007. 

  • At age 13+:  A number of scholarships and some exhibitions offering free tuition on either one or two instruments are awarded annually to outstanding candidates. The music scholarship auditions for 2008 entry will be held on 31 January 2008 and the closing date for music scholarship applications is 11 January 2008.

  • At age 16+:  The music scholarship auditions and interviews for 2008 entry will be held on 23 November 2007.  Closing date for applications: 12 November 2007.

Candidates are expected to play their first and second study (voice is acceptable as a study) and to do some aural tests and sight reading.  There will also be a chance to ask questions of the Director of Music and his colleagues and to look around the department.

All Rounder Scholarships

Awards are available for entry at age 11, 13 and 16.
